The GFL heads into Week 2 with the ability to only have one unbeaten team, and one winless team after the dust settles. In a five week league, that will put one team in the drivers seat as far as making the CHampionship Game, and put another on life support.
The 1-0 Cougars will take on the 1-0 Phoenix while the 0-1 Raptors will compete with the 0-1 Falcons.
For the Phoenix and Cougars, this is the only matchup between the two during the season, so it will be a big contest. The Cougars scored the most points in the league last week and both teams only gave up 12 points. The Cougars threw for 5 touchdowns while the Phoenix ran for two, nearly three. It should be a good all around battle.
The Raptors will look to continue thier momentum from week 1, as they scored 12 points in the final 7 minutes of that contest. If they can, they will have a good shot against the Falcons, a talented team son the outside with veteran leadership. Both teams seemed to get better as their games went along, so this one may be a toss up as far as who may be favored.
Both games kick off at noon, on Saturday the 28th
Gridiron Player of the Week
with 66% of the vote, the Gridiron Player of the Week goes to Nate Ivy, of the Phoenix, for his 3 touchdown performance last week. Though the league doesnt track exact yardage totals, the Quarterback extended many plays with his legs and was efficient with the football, costing his team no turnovers as he lef the Phoenix to a victory.
